Kim Buckner Nominated and Recognized for Entrepreneurship Achievements
h2b creative owner and creative director, Kim Buckner, was chosen as one of three finalists for the Navigator of Entrepreneurship Award at the Chattanooga Nautilus Awards held Friday, July 9th at the Chattanooga Convention Center.
“I am so honored to be recognized as a leader in our community,” said Kim Buckner, owner and creative director of h2b creative.
Held in conjunction with the SHE Expo and presented by the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce and the Chattanooga Times Free Press, the Nautilus Awards Luncheon honored and celebrated outstanding businesswomen in the Chattanooga community for their strength, leadership and courage. The purpose of the awards was to honor individuals providing or advocating for increased opportunities for women of all ages.
Five awards were given out; The Lightkeeper Award, The Navigator of Entrepreneurship Award, The Pearl of Promise Award, The Stargazer Award and The ATHENA Award. Each award honored three nominees.
“Being in the company of so many women who do great works for our community was a very inspiring experience,” Buckner said.
Kim’s nomination, The Navigator of Entrepreneurship Award, celebrates women who "steer" their way in life by instituting at the workplace the best practices for women. The Navigator possesses a trailblazing spirit of entrepreneurship while serving as an inspiration to women.
Kim was recognized for her encouragement of a successful work-life balance among all employees, for the loyalty she inspires in her employees and for the courage and dedication she showed when founding and building h2b creative from the ground up.
“I look forward to the future and strive to continue to work hard and inspire young women to capture their dreams,” Buckner said.
Kim is a leader who believes in her company and what it does for the community. As a result of this, her advocacy for the environment and animals was recognized as well. h2b creative’s recycling program purchases all promotional gifts from companies that use second and third generation recycled materials and h2b’s advocacy on behalf of animals includes support for the Chattanooga Humane Education Society. h2b creative’s largest pro bono project for 2009 was the new HES website.
“h2b creative always aspires to develop creative initiatives and campaigns to assist the many great causes in our community,” Buckner said. “We’re always looking to take on projects we feel passionate about.”
